Academic Advising
All Penn State Behrend students are assigned an academic advisor. This is either a faculty member or a professional academic advisor in the college's advising center (Erie Hall, rm. 20).

Adult students at Penn State Behrend are assigned based on their admission type. Provisional students are typically adults and are assigned to Ms. Biddy Brooks in the Center for Adult Services and Evening Programs. As a staff member of the college's advising center she is prepared to assist any adult learner with their academic questions as well as provide non-academic guidance to adult students.

Adult students who enroll as first year or transfer students are assigned a faculty advisor based on their anticipated major. The faculty advisor meets with students primarily to assist with course scheduling and academic guidance but will also discuss other issues as needed.

There are also many University resources that you can utilize. These include The Penn State Undergraduate Advising Student Handbook, Advising at PSU, Penn State Portals and the Behrend College Advising Guide.

Learning Resource Center
The services of the LRC are free to all currently enrolled student and include professional and peer tutoring, supplemental instruction, informational and educational videos and workshops. There is also a drop in math lab and writing lab.

Tutoring is available in individual or group settings at the LRC, math lab and writing lab. Sessions are arranged at the mutual convenience of the student. Keep in mind that the LRC relies on students to provide the tutoring. As a result, the tutoring depends upon the availability and knowledge of the students. If we do not currently have a tutor, it can take two weeks or more to hire one. Plan ahead! Tutors have classes and exams and are not available at a moment's notice.
