What do I need to do to indicate an interest in the Education Certification programs

The freshman and sophomore years are traditionally a time for exploring different fields and broadening one's horizons.
However, if students are interested in a teaching career, it is advisable to contact the coordinator of education programs as soon as possible since some of the requirements for the Penn State Behrend education programs may be met by taking courses that also fulfill the University's General Education requirements.
You should notify the coordinator of education programs even if you are still exploring the of options of Education Certification. This will allow you to receive early information about the program and could help you make a more informed decision.
These requirements are most frequently met during the first two years. A late start may mean having to devote one's relatively few elective course choices to taking required courses, thereby losing opportunities to explore areas of interest that a student might want to pursue during the junior and senior years.
