Academic Orientation (FTCAP)-- Information for First-Year Students
Entering in the Summer and Fall of 2008

Congratulations and welcome to Penn State Erie, The Behrend College!

If you are an incoming student and have completed your online Placement Testing, you will receive a letter in the mail which will outline information about how to register for Academic Orientation(FTCAP) shortly after you take the online placement exams (postcards for taking the these exams will begin to be mailed out in mid to late March). This day-long program is an academic orientation to the University; we encourage both students and parents to attend because there are segments designed for each of you.

In addition to meeting with an advisor to schedule for the fall, you will meet representatives from various offices across campus. You will also get your Penn State ID and have your email account activated. You must have proper identification (such as a Driver's License) to obtain your Penn State ID.

Further, the day will include an informational session on financial aid and billing. Please bring any financial aid related paperwork, including your/your parent's Federal PIN, in the event we need to access your FAFSA information.

The program will be held from June 16-20, June 23-27, July 14-18 and July 21-25. Upon receipt of your reservation, you will receive an email notification of your attendance date. Your email confirmation will include additional information, such as a parking permit.
