Founded in 1947, ACM is the world's first educational and scientific computing society.

National ACM organization 

• Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE)

IEEE is the world's largest technical professional society. The IEEE student chapter at Penn State Behrend holds regular meetings and often sponsors special seminars and tours. All engineering students are invited to attend and encouraged to join IEEE at special student rates.

• Society of Women Engineers (SWE)

The mission of SWE is encourage women to pursue engineering as a career. All interested students are invited to attend their meetings and to become involved with fund-raising, work life, career enhancement, mentoring, and social activities.
