The U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts the need for engineering technicians will grow 10 to 20 percent over the next ten years. Competitive pressures and advancing technology also will force companies to improve and update manufacturing processes and product designs more rapidly.

Recent alumni surveys indicate that more than 80 percent of Penn State Behrend engineering technology graduates are employed in their field and are well satisfied with their current positions. Surveys of employers demonstrated high regard and satisfaction with graduates, and employers stated they would hire more Penn State Behrend graduates as the need arises.
