Career Opportunities for Plastics Engineering Technology Graduates

Career Fair 2002

Graduates of the PLET program have enjoyed a rich employment track record since the program's first graduating class in 1989. Graduating seniors have seen strong placement in a variety of positions including management, manufacturing and process engineering, project management, plastic tooling sourcing and support, sales, CAE analysts, and product development engineering. Active recruitment has occurred in the industrial sectors including automotive, medical, Computer-Aided Engineering, industrial and consumer products, and software tech support.

Recruitment from the program is coordinated through the Career Development Center at Penn State Behrend, which acts a central contact point for potential employers. In the fall semester of each year, the Career Development Center organizes a career fair, inviting employers with open positions for all disciplines sponsored on the Penn State Behrend campus.

Underclassmen often can experience some early training in Plastics Engineering prior to graduation through internships and Co-ops coordinated through the Career Development Center.
