The spiral staircase at the US Supreme Court

After a week of sunny, pleasant weather, the group endured a day of pouring rain on Friday and tried to keep to indoor locations as much as possible. Morning visits included Ford's Theatre, the house where Lincoln died (where students learned that Lincoln died in a diagonal position), the National Building Museum, and the National Postal Museum. After lunch at Union Station, we were escorted for a tour of the US Capitol with a Penn State Erie alumnus who now works for the Capitol Police. Later that afternoon, the group visited the Library of Congress and went to a lecture inside the US Supreme Court chambers.
