SCHOOL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES POLITICAL SCIENCE TRIP TO WASHINGTON DC Wednesday, March 14, 2007
Another sunny day begins with a trip to the Old Post Office Pavilion Clock Tower with its amazing views of the whole city. Following a tour of the State Department, the group went to a briefing at the Organization of American States. That afternoon included lunch and a tour at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center and then a meeting with Senator Bob Casey in the Russell Senate Office Building, along with one of his legislative assistants. For the remainder of the afternoon, the group made it through several security checkpoints to reach the Senate galleries and see a Senator speaking to an empty chamber, and then the House Galleries, which was holding a series of noisy roll call votes with all members on the floor.
