Psychology Degrees

The Psychology Program offers both the B.A. and B.S. Degrees. Both degrees require a total of 124 credits including the standard 46 credit General Education Requirement.

Requirements for the major (BA and BS)

* Psy 002 Introductory Psychology (3 cr)
* CmpBd 100 Introduction to Computers (3 cr)

Research Core (12 cr)

* Psy 015 Elementary Statistics in Psychology (4 cr)(usually offered only in the Fall semester)
* Psy 201W Basic Research Methods (4 cr) (prereq Psy 015)
* Psych 431W Advanced Research Methods (4 cr) (prereg Psy201W)

Basic Course Requirement (12 cr)

Advanced Course Requirement (9 cr)
In addition to 431W, take three additional 400-level psychology courses from any combination of categories.

Special Interest (6 cr)
Take at least 2 other psychology course of any level as interest dictates.

BA Degree
The B. A. Degree also requires 24 credits in college degree requirements and 12 credits of electives. College degree requirements include 12 credits foreign language, 3 credits arts, 3 credits humanities, 3 credits other cultures, and 3 credits social/behavioral sciences.
BS Degree
The BS Degree requires either Math 110 or Math 140 and 12 credits of electives. Students choose either the Business Option or General Science Option.
* The Business Options requires 21 credits of business courses and allows one to graduate with a business minor.* The General Science Option requires 21 credits in science courses and allows one to graduate with a science minor.
