Enrollment Type: Non-degree
Non degree admission is available for those applicants who have not been granted provisional or degree admission. This is also an option for individuals whose degree applications cannot be processed in time for the next semester. Applicants must be high school graduates or individuals who have passed the GED test.
NOTE: Non degree students are not eligible for financial aid for the period of time that they are in non degree status.

Non degree admission is available at all Penn State locations. The following conditions apply to non degree admission:

Course registration for new students begins August 1 for the fall semester and December 1 for the spring semester

There is no application fee

Official high school transcripts are not required at the time of application

On campus housing is available on a space available basis only

To apply as a non degree student at Penn State Behrend, please print and complete the application form then send to the Registrar's Office, Penn State Behrend, 4701College Drive., Erie, PA 16563. Non degree to Degree admission
Once a non degree student has completed 9 (toward an associate degree) or 18 (toward a baccalaureate degree) credits, he or she may apply for degree status. This gives the student the opportunity to become a degree-seeking student and be considered for financial aid.
