Penn State Behrend Entrance

Pioneers

It can’t be 60 years!

In 1948 Mary Behrend generously donated her 400 acre estate to Penn State University to create the “Behrend Center.”  60 years has passed and many of the traditional places are still here, but there is so much more! People like Reed Ferguson and Irv Kochel are watching from above, but their spirit of personal attention and genuine concern for students is still a hallmark of a Penn State Behrend education.

On July 25-27, 2008 we are hosting an alumni reunion to celebrate the 60th anniversary of “the Behrend Center.”  If you attended Behrend anytime from 1948 to 1958, you’re a “Pioneer” and we want you back to celebrate with your classmates.

Pioneer Picnic Dinner and Reception

Friday, July 25
6:30 pm
Glenhill Farmhouse Lawn

We are sprucing up for you and we want you to come back and see what we’ve done with the place. The pool, the administration building and the barn are in great shape, but we need you to bring your rake for the annual campus clean-up!  Of course we’re kidding, but we are not kidding about coming back to where it all began.  You won’t believe your eyes!

There will be golf, Penn State Creamery ice cream, wine tours, campus tours, horse-drawn wagon rides, picnics, and so much more. Call your classmates or call Kristen Comstock in the Alumni office at kcc146@psu.edu or 814-898-6367 to help track them down.

Your Pioneer Reunion Committee is:

Joe Benacci ’57 - joeb@twl-erie.com
Chuck D’Angelo ‘57
Bill Roberge ’61 - billrob@velocity.net
Bob Monahan ‘52
