Penn State Behrend Takes Tough Loss in Overtime

The Penn State Behrend men's water polo ended their short home stand in the Junker Center pool with a thrilling over time game.  The blue and white entered the pool determined to come away with a split on the home stand.  The Behrend Lions took on CWPA conference foe Washington and Jefferson.

Penn State Behrend got on the board first when Jon Bacon (Glendale, CA/Crespi Carmelite) found the back of the cage to put the Behrend Lions up 1-0.  The first quarter would end at that mark.  The blue and white would find themselves on top at the half as Jacob Bernstein (Sierra Madre, CA/Pasadena) added a goal to give the Behrend Lions a 2-1 lead going into the third quarter.

The blue and white were shutout in the third quarter while the Washington and Jefferson Presidents managed three goals to go up 4-2.  The fourth quarter was much the opposite, the Behrend Lions scored three times to force overtime, while the Presidents put one past the blue and white keeper.  The blue and white would fall behind quickly in the first overtime and would not be able to recover.  The Behrend Lions were unlucky throughout the match hitting the crossbar and post numerous times.  Bacon added his third goal in overtime to lead the Behrend Lions.  With the loss the Behrend Lions fall to 2-10 overall.

Up next for the blue and white is the Division III Eastern Champions at Johns Hopkins University.  The Behrend Lions will face off against Connecticut College and Johns Hopkins on Saturday, October 25th at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. respectively.
