- The Residence Hall Network Help Desk moves to Dobbins Hall on Monday, October 16th. The phone number and hours of operation remain the same. What has changed is the procedure for dropping off your computer that needs to be reformatted or requires extensive work. Formerly, all drop-offs were taken to the H135 Computer Center help desk. Starting Monday, October 16, all on-campus computer drop-offs will be accepted exclusively at the Dobbins Hall location during the posted hours of operation. Due to current staffing levels, students who need to drop off or pick up a computer will need to call ahead to make sure that the on-duty technician is at the desk (and not away on a service call). - posted 10/16/06

Students, faculty and staff have access to three new 24/7 public labs which are located on the first floor of the REDC building. The easiest way to get to the labs is from the first-floor, side entrance off of Jordon Road. Once inside, go straight past the Cafe and into the east wing. The room numbers are 153, 175 and 176. These labs are configured similar to our other public labs and can be used by all students when not scheduled for classes. - posted 09/05/06

The labs formerly located in H130 and H137 are now closed and will be converted to staff offices. In addition, W109 has been converted to a networking lab and W110 has been converted to a Linux lab; both of these labs will be used by the School of Science. - posted 05/24/06
- After 4 years of operation, the Computer Center’s is ending its wireless network card lending program. This decision is due to aging equipment, declining participation, and the built-in wireless capabilities of laptop computers. Those students who are currently participating in the lending program are welcome to keep the card that they have. Cards that have not been lent out will be made available to the student population on a first-come, first-serve basis. (Stop by the Hammermill 135 help desk during normal hours of operation to pick up a wireless network card. Cards cannot be reserved.) If you have any questions about the discontinuation of this program, contact the Hammermill 135 Help Desk at 898-6415. - posted 03/31/06

Recycling your empty ink jet cartridges or used cell phones just became easier. The Biology Club has several locations on campus where you can pick up a free, postage-paid and addressed envelope so that you can recylce these items. Just place the cartridges or cell phone into the envelope and then place the envelope in the mail. You can find the recycling display and envelopes in the following locations: Hammermill (outside the main entrance of the Computer Center), Nick and Science Buildings (near the faculty mailboxes), and downstairs in Nick 55. Not only will you be helping the environment, but you'll be helping the Biology Club which benefits from this fund raiser. - posted 01/13/06
