Alignment of Images and Text

This web page provides several different examples of how an image may be aligned in relation to the text. The ALIGN attribute is used with the IMG SRC tag and may have one of the following values: left, right, top, middle, and bottom.

Example of No Alignment Specified

The ALIGN attribute is used with the IMG SRC tag and may have one of the following values: left, right, top, middle, and bottom. There are other values for the ALIGN attribute (such as Absbottom, Absmiddle, etc.); however, these values will not work in all browsers. In addition, there are other ways of aligning an image and text. One way is to use a transparent GIF image and the other is to use a table (with or without borders). You can also control the spacing around an image. To do this, use the HSPACE and VSPACE attribute to add horizontal or vertical spacing around an image. (The HSPACE and VSPACE attributes were not used with the images on this page.) If you reduce or enlarge the size of your browser window, the text will automatically adjust itself around the image.
