Penn State's online MBA program began in 2002. It is accredited by the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), the gold standard in business programs. It is designed for professionals who have work experience in a wide variety of fields—business, engineering, healthcare, technology, and many others—and seek to position themselves for growth in the global economic environment. The online MBA curriculum is well-suited for people with either business or nonbusiness undergraduate degrees.
    Integrated Curriculum
iMBA students can learn and immediately apply advanced business strategies to help solve challenges facing their organizations. Cutting-edge business strategies and practical business knowledge are integrated into Penn State's online MBA program. The iMBA curriculum integrates content across functional areas—linking management, marketing, finance, accounting, and operations—through common content and through two, weeklong residency experiences.
    Lifelong Networking Opportunities
iMBA students begin networking with each other even before they start their first term. Each new student is paired with a mentor who has successfully completed the program. Then, the two, weeklong residencies provide rich networking experiences with a wide variety of peers from many industries and geographic locations. After graduation, iMBA students can join the iMBA Alumni Network and connect with members who graduated since the program began.
    A Recognized MBA
The iMBA is Penn State’s only online MBA program. Students who successfully complete the iMBA program receive a diploma stating that they have earned a master of business administration degree, not an iMBA or an online MBA. The iMBA curriculum offers a level of quality and rigor consistent with Penn State's international reputation for excellence as an educational institution. Since its founding in 1855, Penn State has established itself as one of the nation's most respected universities, offering instruction in more than 160 baccalaureate and 150 graduate programs.

The students spend eight continuous terms, or two years, learning key business concepts to make them more effective in their current jobs or open new employment opportunities for them. The program consists of 19 online courses and two, weeklong residency experiences and is designed so students can earn their MBA while continuing to work full-time.
