Publication Resources and Guidelines
Penn State Behrend faculty and staff are
encouraged to contact the office of University Relations
at the beginning of your publications and public relations projects.
We help colleagues throughout campus develop effective marketing communications
plans, and our staff can provide expertise and resources in marketing,
editing, photography, design, printing, media relations, and Web communications.
The promotional publications listed below
require review and approval by the University Editor. At Penn State
Behrend, contact Director of Marketing Communication Dewayne Wright at x6570 or
daw40@psu.edu, to have your materials
reviewed and assigned a University Editor number:
Electronic and hard-copy versions of the
Penn State Behrend mark, for both
print and the Web, are available through Marketing Communication.
Please contact Dewayne Wright.

Important Points about University Editor
Representatives for Faculty and Staff
- All promotional publications need to be reviewed
and OK'd by your University Editor representative and assigned a
U.Ed. number. Major image pieces and primary promotional pieces
will need to be reviewed by the Department of Marketing
Communication
in the page-proof stage, prior to being sent to a printer.
- Allow adequate time for your U.Ed. rep to
conduct the reviews for which he or she is responsible. The time
needed by your rep may vary depending on the size and importance
of that job as well as the rep's schedule and workload.
- All promotional publications (except formal
invitations) need to include a U.Ed. number, appropriate ADA
statements, an affirmative action statement, and the Penn State
Behrend mark.
- Many policy and style questions can be answered
by consulting the Penn State Editorial Style manual, which can be
found online at:
http://publications.psu.edu/
- Make sure you send four samples of
completed publications to the Marketing Communication office at Logan
House.
