Emergency Contraceptive Pills
(The "Morning After Pill")

Counseling and treatment are available for women who are concerned about a possible pregnancy due to unprotected intercourse, a condom accident, or sexual assault.  Emergency Contraceptive Pills (Plan B), commonly called “Morning After Pills”, are effective up to 120 hours after the unprotected intercourse incident and are now available over-the-counter for women 17 years of age or older.  Photo proof of age is required at all pharmacies, including the the Health and Wellness Center Pharmacy when purchasing Plan B.

For women under 18 years of age, getting the ECP at Health and Wellness requires a brief health history interview by a Health and Wellness nurse. This interview can be conducted either in person or over the phone. Call (814) 898-6217 and ask to speak to a nurse.
Effectiveness of the ECP decreases the longer you wait to take it, so don’t delay if interested.

For additional information on ECP, see the Emergency Contraceptive Pills factsheet on this website or visit the Not-2-Late website
