The Residence Life program at all locations of
Penn State recognizes that the environment has an impact on student
development, that the University has the resources and commitment to
structure the environment in ways that enhance that development, and
that the on-campus living experience is a significant aspect of the
student's total education.
Each floor in the residence halls and suites
and each student apartment building has one resident assistant (RA)
who serves as the primary resource and aide for the residents on that
floor or in that building. RAs are carefully selected and trained in
order that they may best fulfill the needs of the residents with whom
they work.
Residence Life is administered by the
associate director of Student Affairs; the assistant director of
Residence Life; three professional, live-in coordinators; and the
forty-two student resident assistants.
